How can I help Cullman Christian School?
Prayer
We need the consistent fervent prayers of
believers for our School, its staff and students.
Development
Cullman Christian School is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization. All gifts and
donations made to the School are tax deductible. If you believe in the mission
of Cullman Christian School and desire to have a lasting impact on your
community and the lives of our young people, please consider giving to CCS.
These are just a few of the many ways you may consider giving:
• Cash gifts
• Stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and certificates of deposit
Capital gains taxes are assessed taking into account several factors and
because of this, it is important to carefully select the best asset to fund your
charitable giving. As a general rule, however, the best choice is to donate a
security that would be subject to the highest rate and dollar amount of
capital gains tax, were you to sell it.
• Land
• Charitable Gift Annuity
A charitable gift annuity (CGA) is a way to support CCS, and receive regular,
fixed payments for life. As a simple contract between you and Focus, a CGA
allows you to combine three wonderful concepts - a generous charitable
contribution, a guaranteed lifetime income source, and favorable tax
benefits. In exchange for an irrevocable gift of cash or securities, CCS agrees
to pay one or two annuitants a regular, fixed payment for life. Payments are
made in annual, semi-annual or quarterly installments. Annuities can be
funded with a minimum gift of $5,000 and can begin paying out any time
after the youngest annuitant has reached the age of 50.
• Insurance policies
Ways to Support CCS Through Life Insurance:
- Simply name CCS as beneficiary (primary, secondary, or final) of
your existing policy.
- Purchase a new policy naming CCS as owner.
- Donate a paid-up policy by changing the owner to CCS.
- Give a policy on which you are continuing to pay premiums by
naming CCS as owner or irrevocable beneficiary.
- If you are uninsurable, it is possible in some cases to purchase a
policy on the life of another person and name CCS as owner or
irrevocable beneficiary.
- Assign life insurance policy dividends to CCS to make a convenient
tax deductible gift.
• IRA distributions for those over 70 1/2 yrs old
Perhaps you intend to leave your retirement assets to your children. If so,
you may be surprised by the income tax implications. For this reason,
retirement fund property is considered one of the least “tax friendly” assets
to bequeath to children. If, then, you were planning to make your children
beneficiaries of your retirement plan and to leave a gift to charity from
another part of your estate, the reverse would be more tax-effective: by
making a gift to charity from your retirement assets, you will be able to
leave more of your estate to your heirs. This is because even though
retirement assets are included in one’s taxable estate, whether they’re
intended for charity or heirs, they are deductible from one’s estate if they
are designated as a charitable gift.
For your convenience, a secure form allows you to designate monthly
automated bank drafts. Please click here for the appropriate form.
Consider leaving a gift to Cullman Christian School in your Will. You may
consult with your own legal and tax consultants.
